Job Title: A/V and Streaming Coordinator

Job Type: Part-Time (10-12 Hours Per Week; $20/Hr.)

Location: Benson Memorial United Methodist Church, Raleigh, NC


This Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and function of all audio, video, and streaming systems of Benson Memorial United Methodist Church (BMUMC). This position also requires leading and teaching volunteers as needed for all worship services and events.


Some of what you’ll do:

Your primary responsibility is Benson Memorial’s live streaming needs during worship services and special events. In addition, you’ll also be personally involved with the following:

  • Collaborate with Pastors, AV team volunteers, and other users of the A/V facilities regarding BMUMC productions.
  • Work with Trustees to manage and oversee the A/V Team budget.
  • Attend Worship Committee and Staff meetings.
  • Bring innovative suggestions to the planning sessions with the goal of increasing the overall effectiveness.

The first things you’ll do are:

  • Meet with both the Senior and Teaching Pastors, along with the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC).
  • Recruit and oversee all employees and volunteers working within the volunteer A/V Team.
  • You will be an integral part of our GATHER Ministry Area through our Worship Committee.




The person assuming this position willingly agrees to uphold the mission of BMUMC, the United Methodist denomination as a whole, and the Christian Faith. We also need you to be experienced with a variety of audio, video streaming media, and lighting equipment. This is a true “hands-on” job!



  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience as a Team Leader, Production Manager, or similar.
  • Proven video editing skills and experience with editing software, preferably Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, or equivalent. Experience with Blackmagicdesign production switcher is also a plus.
  • Proficiency with streaming software.

  • A strong willingness to learn new things and produce a great product on a small budget.
  • Prowess for interviewing, with an ability to ask the right questions to gather and obtain relevant information.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as maintain a positive working relationship with other staff and members of the community.
  • Perform multiple tasks under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
