worship (Gather)

We are called to GATHER as the Body of Christ for worship and community so that we may be people who are grounded in our relationship with our Creator, with humankind, and with all of creation (Acts 2.42). Worship Services

Here at Benson Memorial UMC, we have two worship services on Sunday mornings. Our 8:45 a.m. service is a Service of Word and Table, with communion offered each week. Our 11:00 a.m. service is the traditional-style worship, with our Chancel Choir. Pastors Kelly Lyn Logue and Jeff Babajtis lead the congregation each week.

JOIN US IN THE SEASON OF LENT

FOR A NEW SERMON SERIES

BEGINNING ASH WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26:

ROLL DOWN, JUSTICE!

“Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” —Amos 5:24

Lent is a time of reminding ourselves who we are called to be in this world. Our Lenten worship and sermon series, “Roll Down, Justice!”, is inspired by Amos, a prophet whose message is that God calls us to let “justice roll down like waters.” Worship without justice is not acceptable, rather our songs and gatherings must move us to action on behalf of others.

The season of Lent begins with a call to repent, which means to “turn around.” This year, we will turn from our apathy; turn from simply “going through the motions” of our life and worship together. Instead, we will pray to be active instruments of peace, agents of change in the world, as we focus on our baptismal vows, reflecting and seeking renewed inspiration to let our hearts be tuned to God’s heart and love for all people. How will we give of ourselves for the sake of the world?

Join us as we begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

(SERIES CONTINUES IN OUR SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICES: 8:45 AND 11:00 AM)
